The University has two beautiful teaching sites within and around Bath. The larger campus at Newton Park is set four miles west of Bath. The other is at Sion Hill in the city centre. Bath Spa became a university in 2005, and in the Sunday Times University League Table September, 2006 were ranked 5th best university out of the 55 modern universities in the UK Bath is England’s only World Heritage City and is famous for its Roman Baths and Georgian architecture, as well as its Abbey. Excellent shopping, the theatre and its art galleries give Bath a cosmopolitan yet traditional feel. It only takes about 90 minutes by train to get from London to Bath. Facilities
Newton Park campus, where all courses and subjects except art and design are located, is a spectacular parkland estate. The campus has its own lakes, nature reserve, woods and farmland, along with numerous historic buildings. A frequent bus service takes students right into the city centre. There is a modern library, lecture theatres, laboratories and two performing arts venues The Students’ Union (SU) houses a large bar and common room, a bookshop, stationery shop and general shop – which won a prize for best university shop in 2006. At the Sion Hill campus, art and design working areas include graphic design studios; electronic media workshops; studios for art, textiles and sculpture; workshops for wood, etching, lithography and silkscreen; and photography darkrooms.
Student life:
The International Student Adviser organises social events and trips for students, all included in the international student tuition fees. The Students’ Union at Bath Spa University offers clubs and societies including hockey, rugby, football, the Christian Union, kung fu, judo, human rights, swimming, African drumming and beat poetry.

ACCOMMODATION:
Campus accommodation is self-catering. Cookers, microwaves and fridge/freezers are provided in kitchens. Both Sion Hill and Newton Park campuses have 24-hour security. There are launderettes, shops, bars and refectories at both sites. A third site is off campus (Waterside Court) but centrally located.Kitchens and in some cases, bathrooms, are shared. Generally around 6 to 8 students share a kitchen and 5 to 6 students share a bathroom/shower. There are some rooms with ensuite bathrooms.
International students can also choose home stay accommodation with a local family. School of English and Creative Studies :
